My Empty Mood Board

Last Thursday Lee and I returned home from house hunting, gleefully calling our friends and family to let them know we had found the house. Once I calmed down (a little), I started making the mood board background that I had planned to make to use in home decorating. I was so excited about mood boards I even tweeted about it.

But a week later the mood board sits empty because the house didn't work out. And even though as I assembled the mood board last week I could not even think of the heartbreak that would ensue if this didn't work out, I'm actually doing just fine.

The sellers had to get the full price of the house to pay off the mortgage, but the house wasn't worth that much in this market, so we walked away and we're feeling good about it. So in a few minutes we're heading back out with our realtor. Here we go again!

Future house, I'd like to dedicate this song to you.

We went through that kind of experience too. It was difficult for me since I'm the kind of girl that wants it now! Why don't you look at bank owned homes? That's how we got our house.

Oh no.. I can sympathise with your situation, I really can. We're going through a horrible moving situation too. Everyone keeps telling me that things will work out for the best, and you just have to try to make yourself believe that. I did the whole inspiration board thing for our new place that fell through, but next time I'm not going to let myself get as emotionally involved until I've moved in! Best of luck :)

Steph -- We actually looked at a bank-owned home last night but the kitchen was way too small and they had a gutted second bath with nothing but pipes and wood -- not even drywall! But we're looking at those too!

Good luck Rebecca! I hope you find the right place soon!

awww. if it makes you feel any better, we didn't know that we were FOR SURE going to get our house until about 2 1/2 weeks ago. 6 months of wondering if your house is going to end in heartbreak is the worst. i refused to accept moving boxes or buy anything for the house. so of course now we're going crazy. but anyways, it'll all work out, you'll find a fab casa soon!! one that's actually WORTH the asking price. ;-)
